She/Her

2025 proved to be quite a challenging year. After seeing 14 medical providers, I finally got the diagnoses confirmed. An autoimmune disease, a rare disease, and a third cancer. As a registered nurse and nurse educator, I was shocked and dismayed by the obvious gaps in the healthcare system where I have spent a lifetime working. I vowed to make a difference.

In 2026, I formed my own educational nonprofit, focused on chronic disease management. In our program offerings, we ensure that health literacy, equality and equity are central. As I continue to navigate my own health journey, I will address the gaps in healthcare delivery and hopefully streamline the path to diagnosis and treatment for those on similar healthcare journeys.
