We recently hit a milestone worth celebrating: our Ambassador Program has grown to 100 members. We’d been anticipating that for a while, and it was so fun when Carla Coleman helped us cross that finish line.
But sometimes unexpected wins are the sweetest. We also heard this month from a young woman in Texas who just graduated high school. She wrote to share her accomplishments, her goals, and her appreciation for how the Coalition and ambassadors speak up for patients. Getting to hear from regular people like her, and to also meet each new ambassador as they join, makes our work so meaningful.
Sharing those stories, and the data behind them, is at the core of what we do. Be sure you are following @ChronicRights on social media so you can see ambassadors talking about their experiences with chronic disease. You may just see your own story there too.
As different as they are, our ambassadors all understand something simple but important: when law and policy are fair to patients, everyone benefits. That's why we push to make sure patients, families, and caregivers have a seat at the table wherever decisions about their care are being made — from chronic disease and chronic kidney disease task forces to something as basic as making sure people can vote by mail (learn more and take action here).
Now that we've crossed 100 ambassadors, we're taking a fresh look at the program. For those already involved, we’ll be asking for your feedback later this fall. For those curious, feel free to hit the link below so we can meet. And as we get ready for a new year to begin, look for some new activities and options.
To every ambassador: thank you for what you do. Let’s keep going– together.
