I advocate because I believe knowledge is power. I share my experiences to challenge misconceptions and to give a voice to those who are afraid to speak. I do not want someone to feel alone or make decisions about their health without understanding all of the options available. Often, we grow up believing that doctors have all the answers and when you get sick it is temporary. When you are diagnosed with a chronic condition it is life altering and you will grieve what you once had and what could have been. Yet, this does not mean you are any less worthy, capable, or valuable.
