Chronic Conditions: Fibromyalgia, Lupus
Fibromyalgia and Lupus haven't just affected my body, they've changed how I live, think, and show up in the world. There are days when pain makes even simple tasks feel impossible, and exhaustion blurs my focus and confidence. I went from pushing forward with ease to questioning whether I could keep up with life at all. The unpredictability of flare-ups, brain fog, and constant fatigue, creates frustration and a sense of losing control over my own body. But through those struggles, I was forced to listen differently. I have become more aware, more intentional, and more determined to understand what my body is trying to say. What once felt like a breakdown became a turning point - shifting me from surviving each day to actively rebuilding my health, my strength, and my purpose.
I advocate for myself and others with chronic disease because I know what it feels like to be unheard, dismissed, and left searching for answers. Living with Fibromyalgia and Lupus has shown me how easily symptoms are minimized and how often people are told to “just manage” instead of truly finding a better way. I refuse to accept that as my future. I've learned to ask better questions, dig deeper, and take ownership of my health, and that has changed everything. Now, I speak up because too many people are still suffering in silence, thinking this is just how life has to be. I have proof - It’s not.
Advocacy, for me, is about giving a voice to those who feel overlooked, helping them understand their bodies, and showing them that real improvement is possible when they stop settling and start leading their own health journey.
