My chronic challenges have cost me a marriage, financial stability, friendships and careers. However, what I have gained is knowledge, empowerment and strength I never knew I was capable of.  Redfining and realigning my life has been an integral part of my healing. I've adopted the mantra, "I CHOOSE."  If it doesn't make me happy or a better person for it, I simply won't do it. These are empowering words, especially when I am faced with difficult choices.

I advocate because I never want another person to have to endure what I have. From misdiagnoses and complacency, both which nearly killed me, to the subpar care I receive as an underserved patient, I am the voice for others who cannot speak for themselves.
