My chronic disease journey began when I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2007. After many years of tests, medications, and hospitalizations, I had found a medication that has helped me to achieve remission. In 2021, I was diagnosed with additional chronic illnesses that have significantly impacted my life. My experiences with chronic illnesses from my childhood into adulthood have allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the healthcare system.
I advocate because I would like to raise awareness for chronic diseases. I want to support other people with chronic illnesses by using my voice in order to create positive change. I recognize that sharing my experiences can allow others to feel less alone in their struggles with chronic diseases.
