9.8.16 The Chronic Disease Coalition is pleased to partner with the Partnership for Prescription Assistance as it hosts a workshop in Portland, Oregon, helping people to learn more about how they can gain affordable access to medications, including through patient assistance programs for which they qualify. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 19 at Project Access Now, at 714 S.W, 20th Place, Portland, OR 97205. The Partnership for Prescription Assistance will help people to identify the assistance programs that are right for them – free of charge. Anyone with questions about the event should email pharmacy@projectaccessnow.org. Other groups partnering on this workshop include Answer2Cancer, Project Access Now, Caring Ambassadors, Cascade AIDS Project and One in Four Chronic Health. It’s important to note that many patient assistance programs are under attack by some big insurance companies, although we have an opportunity to defend them and protect consumers’ right to choose their insurance plan and access to the health care they need to live.
